A framework built from
35 years of doing the work.

Private Advisory is delivered through two structured programmes, Shrine XIII and Ownership Ready, selected based on where your business is now and what needs to change next.

Private Advisory is where the framework meets your business. Over 35 years and across 22 countries, the patterns that determine whether a business grows with strength or stalls under its own complexity have been observed, tested and distilled into a structured programme that produces consistent, measurable results.

We work directly alongside owners and senior leadership on the commercial, operational and strategic decisions that determine what happens next. Not through reports that sit on shelves or workshops that produce energy without change β€” through the tracked numbers, the agreed actions and the weekly accountability that moves a business forward.

Whether the goal is to scale, to fix what has been allowed to drift, or to prepare for sale or investment, Private Advisory provides the structure, the support and the commercial rigour to get there.

─── WHAT WE COVER

The full commercial
architecture of your business.

Every engagement is built around the specific conditions of your business. These are the areas we consistently work across, often several at once, always in the order that creates the most leverage.

01

Commercial

Sales metrics tracked from day one. Pipeline visibility built from evidence, not assumption. Conversion discipline, outbound structure and new revenue channels developed deliberately.

02

Brand

How the business presents across every touchpoint β€” digital, print, social, in person. Brand is the commercial signal that precedes every conversation. It must reflect the quality of the work

03

Structure

The operational architecture that allows the business to run without the owner in every room. Owner-dependent knowledge converted into documented, delegatable systems.

04

Leadership

The owner’s capacity to operate above the business rather than inside it. Developed progressively as the other tracks create clarity, capacity and the space to lead strategically.

05

Decisions

Support at the point where decisions carry real consequence β€” acquisitions, partnerships, financing, investment and the commercial terms that define long-term outcomes.

06

Exit

Preparing a business for sale, investment, MBO or long-term handover. Value protection, transferability and transaction readiness built before the process begins.

─── SHRINE XIII

Thirteen weeks.
One programme built around your business.

Shrine XIII is a 13-week private advisory programme built for owner-led businesses. It begins with a Week 0 Discovery and Roadmap Session to understand where the business is now, where it needs to go and what is getting in the way. From there, it moves into 12 weekly one-to-one Growth Calls, each built around the four tracks: Commercial, Brand, Structure and Leadership.

Commercial always leads because revenue creates options. But the programme flexes around what matters most at any given point, whether that is tightening the brand, building a team structure that does not depend on you, or developing the leadership capacity to hold it all together. Every call is focused, every week builds on the last, and the outcome is a business that is structurally stronger, not just temporarily motivated.

01

Commercial

Sales metrics, pipeline visibility, conversion discipline and outbound structure. Always leads. Nothing else moves until the commercial position is understood with precision.

02

Brand

How the business presents across every touchpoint. Digital presence, brand consistency, social as a commercial tool, professional collateral and enquiry capture.

03

Structure

Internal systems, delegation, reporting and the operational architecture that allows the business to run without the owner in every room.

04

Leadership

The owner’s capacity to operate strategically rather than reactively. Developed progressively as the other three tracks create space to lead from above.

─── OWNERSHIP READY

Thinking about what
comes next?

Ownership Ready is the framework we use inside Private Advisory for owners approaching structural change, sale, investment, a management buyout, family transition or simply the point where a business needs to be able to run without the owner at the centre of every decision.

It focuses on readiness, not transaction. The work begins long before a deal is on the table, because the businesses that achieve the best outcomes are the ones that have spent time building transferable value rather than scrambling to present it under pressure.

TALK TO US ABOUT OWNERSHIP READY

01

Exit Readiness

Most owner-led businesses are not ready for exit, even when the owner is. Ownership Ready is a structured process that sits inside Private Advisory, designed to surface the gaps, build the value and make sure when the time comes, the business is in a position to sell on your terms.

02

The Numbers

Our research shows that approximately 1.46 million UK business owners are forecast to exit between 2025 and 2040, with an estimated enterprise value of Β£769 billion at stake. Only 20% of attempted business sales succeed, and 65% of owners have no exit strategy at all.

03

The GBOT Report

The Great British Ownership Transfer is our independent report into the scale of ownership transition facing UK businesses over the next 15 years. It draws on Companies House data, ONS demographics and sector-level analysis to provide a clear picture of what is coming and what owners need to be doing now.

04

Bespoke Advisory

Not everything fits inside a structured programme. Shrine also works on bespoke advisory mandates where the scope sits outside XIII or Ownership Ready. This has previously included buy-side carve outs, full M&A support, investment acquisition, sales team creation and fractional sales director engagements.

─── WHO IS THIS FOR

Built for owners who have hit a ceiling they can see clearly and know the next level demands a different way of operating.

This is for you if,

  • You run an owner-led business turning over Β£300k to Β£10m+
  • Revenue is moving but margin, systems or leadership capacity are not keeping pace
  • Commercial decisions are made on impression rather than tracked data
  • Growth has created pressure rather than stability
  • You are approaching a significant decision β€” sale, investment, transition or scale
  • You want a structured programme with accountability, not another conversation about strategy

This is not for you if,

  • You are pre-revenue or in early-stage startup
  • You are looking for a workshop, group coaching or a keynote
  • You want a strategy document rather than a structured execution programme
  • You are not the decision maker in your business

─── THE PRACTICE

Glenn Dobson

Chief Executive Officer | Shrine London Ltd

Named CEO of the Year 2021 & 2025

Glenn Dobson is the founder and CEO of Shrine London. He set up the practice to work directly with the people behind owner-led businesses, not as a consultancy delivering reports, but as a hands-on advisory built around the reality of running a business where everything connects back to one person.

Before founding Shrine London, Glenn built and scaled a business from a side project into a multi-million-pound company. That experience, the decisions that worked, the ones that did not, and the pressure of carrying it alone, is the foundation of everything Shrine delivers today.

He leads all Private Advisory at Shrine, working one-to-one with founders and MDs on the commercial, brand, structural and leadership challenges that define whether a business scales sustainably or stalls. His work is grounded in the principle that advisory should build capability and independence, not dependency.
